Frequently Asked Questions

  • There is NO expectation of good behavior! Dogs will be dogs and I have worked with dogs of all temperaments. We use treats, toys, fun voices and interesting sounds to keep your dog engaged and having fun - and most importantly we have patience! We work at their pace and take as many breaks as needed. You’ll leave the session proud of your dog - having never thought they could ever sit for a photo. Also, the dogs you see posed in my photos, weren’t actually sitting still or posing! It only takes me a split second to capture that moment.

  • Your session fee of $250 includes a design consultation where we customize the session for you and your pet, the one (1) hour session, and the viewing session where you’ll see the 30-40 best images and can decide on which you’d like to purchase. All artwork and files can be purchased separately and are not included in your session fee.

  • Every artwork purchase includes the web-size digital file. For example, if you purchase an album that contains 10 images, you will also receive the web-size digital files for those 10 images. Full resolution digital images can be purchased individually for a fee of $295.

  • Yes! I charge a $75 fee per extra dog. We will do photos individually and together as much as possible.

  • Yes! I love capturing the bond that dogs have with their families. At your design consultation, we’ll discuss who you’d like in the photos and we’ll make sure we capture it all. As the parent, you may not want to be in the photos, but I will encourage you to get in there - you won’t regret it.

  • Click on any of the Book Your Free Consult buttons on my site. You will be taken to a contact form with a few questions about you and your pet. I will reach out to set up your initial consultation either on the phone, zoom or in-person at my studio. If you’d like to move forward after that, we find a date a book your session!

  • After you’ve booked your session, I will send you a prep guide that share everything you need to know to be ready. From exercise on the morning of, to grooming in the weeks before - you’ll know exactly what you need to do to be ready for the big day. Also, the design consultation before your session is a great opportunity to ask questions.

  • My dog photography studio is in West Hartford, Connecticut. It is a safe, quiet space that's easy to clean up if there are any messes or accidents. There is also plenty of outdoor space to take breaks.

  • Dogs are part of our families. Despite the big impact they have on our everyday lives, their lives are so short - and we all want to celebrate how unique they are and how special our bond is with them. A portrait session of your dog will capture their personality in a way that you will never be able to with phone. And a camera roll of photos that lives on your phone will never be as impactful as a beautiful portrait hanging on your wall that makes you smile everytime you walk past.
